“3,317 Counter Points, Was It Worth Loosing My Family?”

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

When I joined Tribe Syndication Association (TSA) four short weeks ago, I had no idea of the incredible journey I was about to begin.

I heard about TSA from Chris Hughes, who I’d connected with a few months earlier on Twitter, in his blog post “10 Tips for Using Affiliate Marketing on Your Blog”. And, although my first week in TSA was a bit of a learning curve for me, it was also a week filled with much excitement ~ never had I experienced so much activity going on within a small group of people.  It was incredible to be a part of!

Something I feel makes TSA unique is that it’s a group comprised of individuals from different walks of life, and I have personally learned so much from the blogs I’ve read and syndicated.   Karin Boode has shared valuable tips on how to better my blog; from Dr. Erica Goodstone I have been reminded of the power of love; Nelson Schroeder shares such wonderful stories from his childhood; from Lesly Federici I’ve learned much about self-esteem & self-talk; Joanna Sayers shares her journey as a marathon runner; and, Paul Klaszus who is so full of energy, that after visiting his blog, I can’t help but feel recharged and ready to go!  There are so many other wonderful blogs to learn something from, and I encourage you to visit the TSA group site on Facebook, and discover them for youself.

Of course, TSA would not be possible without Dave and Dawn Cook.  Earlier this year, they created TSA because they realized that Social Media Tribes are where people come together in one place to help each other by promoting each others content on the internet. They created TSA to be a unique tribe in that it’s an organized system that can be accessed at anytime, thus syndicating on your own schedule.  Every week, there is rotation of the 100+ members to maximize getting hits from different IP addresses. And, as Dave states, “Now that’s power!”  For myself personally, in just a few short weeks, in addition to the numerous new friendship connections I have made, I’ve seen a significant increase in the number of people visiting my blog, commenting on posts, and even following me on Twitter.  I know I could not have accomplished any of  this without TSA!

Okay, if you’ve been curious to my post title, let me explain a little bit.  A couple of weeks ago, Dave created a new goal to strive for, to be the top commentator of the week. So now, in addition to the top syndicator of the week, you can also be top commentator. I began this week by deciding that I would comment on every blog that I syndicated.  Yes, I realized that would take extra time and effort, yet it was a goal that I really wanted to commit to.  As the week progressed, I found myself becoming more energized with the interaction I was receiving from my fellow TSA members as I was syndicating & commenting on their posts  ~ From all the activity I was doing, this was the first week I also realized the power of Facebook and how much fun it really is!  Okay, fast-forward to Friday evening.  I was shocked as to how many counters I’d accumulated over the week, and even more when I saw that I had commented on 75 blogs!  Wow!  I was proud of myself for completing my goal ~ what a great feeling!  I am excited for another member of TSA to beat my record, and I will warn you though, it might come with a little bit of personal sacrifice ~ on Friday, my son literally told me, “You’ve been on the internet too much this week…step away from the computer Mom!” LOL!  I guess that was his way of saying that he missed me?!   ;-)
